Collaboration is a term tossed about so frequently in the business world it’s teetering on the verge of becoming one of those benign buzzwords. But as companies launch, expand, contract and merge, we can develop blinders to the impact one internal department’s work can have – positively or negatively – on the outcomes and successes of another division within an organization.
We’re asked as children to share with our peers and work together on group projects that will prepare us for adult life in the working world. I’m counting the days until the Boardroom Events team convenes in Orlando for our first ever fully integrated forums focusing on the collaboration of CIOs and CMOs in the midmarket space.
I’ve been contemplating…are we ahead of the curve? The opportunity to broaden our flagship Midmarket CIO Forum and bring together buying teams comprised of technology and marketing executives seemed too easy! From our initial conceptual discussions to what has now become reality, the decision to integrate the forums has presented some unique opportunities. But the end result is a refreshing forum model behind which I’m proud to stand.
The business of technology has shifted, and the C-suite must all become more active – and more educated – in the future of technology as data continues to be among the most major drivers of business growth.
